What is a vacation without a swimming pool? Even if you happen to be vacationing by the seaside, lodging in a luxury hotel that houses a fantastic swimming pool is always a plus. But you don’t often find a detailed roster of luxury hotels with the best swimming pools. The Daily Meal seeks to remedy that by creating a list of the top 10 hotel pools.
1. Villa D’Este, Lake Como, Italy
The Villa D’Este is a luxury hotel that houses not one, not two, but three swimming pools. The most beautiful of these is the floating pool (picture above) with a built-in Jacuzzi on Lake Como. Order some pasta and chill by the Sundeck Pool Bar while enjoying the breathtaking views. Don’t miss Chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s miso salmon entrée while you are here.
2. The Standard Hotel, Downtown Los Angeles
The rooftop pool in The Standard Hotel offers fantastic views of the Los Angeles skyline. Lounge by the Rooftop Bar with some Buffalo chicken pita and laze on the vibrating waterbeds and the Astroturf sundeck. On weekends, prepare to party hard.
3. Wynn Hotel, Las Vegas
There is a pool for every taste at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas. Relax, unwind and work your tan in one pool, order your umbrella drinks at another and go sunbathing topless at the European Pool. While at the poolside order the Terrace Pointe Café’s kobe beef sliders.
4. Hotel Habita, Monterrey, Mexico
Hotel Habita’s rooftop infinity pools are partially covered and they ooze minimalist chic. They offer brilliant views of the Sierra Madre Mountain and of the San Pedro Gaza Garcia city. While at the poolside, try some octopus ceviche and quesadillas with a fresh fruit cocktail.
5. The Gansevoort Hotel, New York City
Located in New York’s Meatpacking District, The Gansevoort Hotel boasts of a heated pool with music playing underwater. Sadly, there are no food or drinks by this trendy poolside, but the rooftop Plunge Bar makes a mean spicy blue crab pizza.
6. The Raleigh Hotel, Miami
This luxury hotel houses a pool that is an aesthetic delight. The Art Deco design pool is encircled by tropical trees and plants. It is a great place to unwind and the poolside bar makes a stunning mojito. Their burger royale is equally delicious.
7. Round Hill Hotel and Villas, Jamaica
Jamaican tourists with easy access to the ocean may not need a fancy pool. But the Round Hill Hotel’s ocean-facing infinity pool is incredibly beautiful. Plus, the luxury hotel’s villas come with their own private pools.
8. Hotel Joule, Dallas
The rooftop “Poule” at the Hotel Joule is colorful, bright and young. They have some unique services like cooling lavender mists and sunglass spritzing. And it is a great choice for foodies – Charlie Palmer created the menu. Their Watermelon Sangria is refreshing.
9. Hotel Ritz, Paris
For a touch of medieval history head to the highly ornamented poolside at the Hotel Ritz. You will find flashes of ancient Greece and medieval France at this old world hotel. While here, treat your taste buds to their famous Napoleon and wash it down with a glass of champagne.
10. Copacabana Palace, Rio de Janeiro
If you are looking for old world charm and a pool that is open 24 hours a day, head to the Copacabana Palace at Rio. Relax by the poolside with a Brazilian mixed dried meats stew, the feijoda. And try the classic Afternoon Tea.
